Euro weekend, 13-16 May 2010
| At Beckenham Round Table we’re very excited to be hosting this year’s 104 Euro Weekend and are looking forward to repeating the success of last year’s event in Limoux and welcoming lots of faces – both new and old - in May. We are in the fortunate position of being just 20 minutes by train from Central London and a similar distance from Historic Greenwich – birthplace of both Henry VIII and Elizabeth I – and we’ve come up with what we think is a really exciting itinerary, with something to please everybody. |

THURSDAY
Afternoon/evening: Arrival, registration and home hosting. A great opportunity to get to know fellow 104 Tablers in an informal and relaxed home environment.
FRIDAY
Day time: Trip to London and Greenwich. We’ll start the day with a cruise on the river Thames from Tower Hill to Greenwich. Our Guide will accompany us as we travel past the Tower of London and the beautiful Tower Bridge, through Docklands and on to Greenwich, the home of time and centre of space for a walking tour of this beautiful place where you can find bustling markets, fantastic shops and historic sites such as the Queen's House, Old Royal Observatory and the Royal Naval College.
After the tour we’ll take a short walk to the Pavilion Tea Room in Greenwich Park for sandwiches and a traditional cream tea with the option of sampling beer from a local brewery. Next stop, a leisurely stroll to the Planetarium at the Royal Observatory for a 30 minute show.

Evening: Gala Black Tie Dinner comprising a three course meal and after dinner entertainment from Street Dance troupe Class Crew, stars of Sky TVs Got to Dance programme. The band for the evening will be Wingit, a five-piece band playing their own arrangements of tunes from the 60s through to recent chart releases.
SATURDAY
Morning: Civic Reception at Beckenham Public Hall with local dignitaries. This is the formal part of the weekend and will be followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
| Afternoon: Free time. Do a spot of local shopping on Beckenham High Street or take a short trip to the neighbouring town of Bromley where you can find the Glades Shopping Centre with its huge range of fashion and gift stores. Alternatively, Crystal Palace Park is only a few miles away. It’s home to a dinosaur park that original opened in the 1850s and was recently restored by a team of paleontologists and landscape architects. | ![]() |
